Hey folks

Recently had a tickle to play an older game (Might and Magic Heroes 6) and installed it via steam, no problems with the installation but on first launch I got this error message

9e5730e4f6f4b6f231b677c0c438a4ec.png

"Failed to start process for Might & Magic: Heroes VI: "The application has failed to start because it's side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail:" (0x36B1)"

So I did check the event log!

"Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Might and Magic Heroes VI\Might & Magic Heroes VI.exe". Dependant assembly Microsoft.VC90.MFC, processorArchitecture="x86", publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="9.0.21022.8" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis."

The thing that confuses me here is the type=win32 because I'm running on a 64 bit operating system, but eh! Figured out that this Microsoft VC90 is supposed to be Microsoft Visual C++2008 which I downloaded manually, both the 64 and 86 file. Upon trying to install that I get this error

"Error 1935. An error occured during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC90.ATL, version=9.0.21022.8",publicKeyToken="1fc8b39a1e18e3b", processorArchitecture="amd64",type=win32". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x8007054F:"

This is sort of where I'm stuck, I read somewhere it might have something to do with digital signatures but I don't know anything about them and there was no real explanation as to what that person has done to fix it and there was another post somewhere else about registry entries creating a conflict, I've checked that and everything was as it was supposed to be.

I'm running on Windows7 and a 64 bit operating system, my PC has recently been formatted (About 2 months ago?) with a fresh Windows installation, I've tried uninstalling the Framework and all the Visual C++ versions and just installing the 2008 one first but it didn't work. Any help / Idea is appreciated :)
