Issue - I was trying to install MapPoint 12.5 and I kept getting Error 0x80070005 when it was trying to install the C++ 2012 Redistributable. (I was logged in with an account with administrative privileges.)

I found others had problems with other installs.

I tried the SubInACL approach and I ended up getting about 20K errors out of ~ 200K updates tried. No success.

I tried installing locally (not off of the network). Not successful.

I tried logging in with the base administrator account. Not successful.
