Epson V600 failure to communicate with Windows 10 Home desktop

Cannot get new Epson V600 scanner to communicate with my desktop PC running Windows 10 Home. (Details above - laptop has the same) Was able to work on my laptop also running Windows 10 Home suggesting no problem with the Epson hardware. Epsom Support have no further suggestions. Anyone have any ideas? Have been around the uninstall, reconnect route several times unsuccessfully.
