Lately I wanted upgrade my OS to the latest version 1909, but, unfortunately it wasn't going quite well.
This is what happened.
1. My devices info:
Surface Pro 3, 64GB, Windows 10 Professional Edition. And the external media I used is Seagate 2TB Portable Drive.
2. Upgrade and rollback failures:
I was informed to restart when the upgrade software completed downloads, everything seems okay till I got notice written on screen like "Can't upgrade Windows, now undoing changes made to your computer..." . Then it took about 3 min and then reboot, and went back this scenario again and again, endlessly.
3. The logfiles:
Hopelessly, I accessed my drive through WinPE, then I found errors:

4. What I tried:
Forced my device to reboot, self repair failed.
Entered WinRE and clicked "Troubleshooting",
option A, selected "More Restart Options", restarted and pressed F5 to enter "Safe Mode", same scenario with above;
option B, selected "Rollback to the Previous Version", restarted and encountered just the same;
option C, type sfc /scannow or sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows and run, no errors, and I restarted, but nothing changed.
5. Seek for help:
I don't want reseting my computer to be the one and the last option, all I need to do is to save my computer.
I wish my apps and settings remained, instead of reinstalling them. 5 days past and I need my OS back to normal, so please help me!

4. What I tried:
