Enabling Japanese IME introduces glitch in keyboard

Ever since I've enabled the Japanese IME on my windows 11 machine the "a" key on my keyboard now maps to LMB. I'm typing this description right now by copy-pasting the letter "a" where needed since I cannot use the "a" key. Furthermore, it does not just map to LMB, it executes the LMB click 5 times, always, consistently. I haven't been able to find any details about this problem online, the only solution I have found so far is to uninstall all keyboard drivers in the device manager, then restart the system, and then it's usually fine for that session. But the next restart it just comes back. D
