So after playing games that run in a different resolution than my native, i.e. Fallout New Vegas, which uses smaller resolution than my normal 1080p, Windows programs show up in empty white windows until I hover over the different tabs with my mouse.
The Task Manager for example: when I close the game the task manager is an empty white window which says Task Manager at the top and nothing else. In order to get anything to appear I have to point my cursor at the space where "processes" should be. Then the "processes" tab will appear and nothing else, in order for any information in a given tab to pop up I have to click into a different tab and then back into the other. This goes for every tab in the program.
It takes a grand total of 17 seconds to get everything back to normal so it isn't usually an issue. The problem that I'm most concerned with is that games like Fallout crash.... a lot, and when they do I have to alt + tab into the task manager and use the alt + tab window view to kill the game. This is incredibly difficult when the window I am trying to access is blank.
I am currently running the latest version of Win 10 and the latest nvidia graphics drivers, but the problem started well after I updated the drivers so I can be certain they aren't related. I have a Gigabyte gtx 1070 video card, a Gigabyte z390 Aorus ultra motherboard, intel i9 processor, and 16 GB RAM (though Fallout can only use 4 max and I don't run much else in the background). Help would be greatly appreciated!
