Emails sent as Important don't show up in my inbox

I have an Outlook Exchange account and a client sent me multiple emails that were sent as "high importance", yet they didn't show up in my 365 inbox on my desktop. The only reason I saw them was because I looked at my email on my phone. If I searched for the emails directly on the desktop it would find them and say they were in the inbox, but going back to the inbox they would not be there. Can you please help to ensure this doesn't happen again.
