Edge wants to 'setup again', logs me in automatically to MS account, and now all my settings / cookies / passwords / extension settings are gone

What the title says.Starting Edge suddenly prompts a full screen view with 'What do you want to sync? We signed you in with <my ms account here>'.I am on a _local_ Windows account. My edge _WAS NOT_ signed in to my MS account, and I don't want to sync anything.But Edge decided _on its own_ that it signed me in. I have to click that I don't want to sync anything, and then click 'sign me out' and I can use Edge again.But now, I still have my bookmarks + extensions (like vertical tabs for instance) are still there.
