Alright, look. I've been a happy customer of Windows for a long time. My all-time favorite game is Minecraft Java Edition. I was raised on Windows 7, then eventually switched to Windows 10. So I've been a happy customer of Microsoft for a long time. Then it all started. First off was the official renaming of Minecraft to Minecraft Java Edition, and after taking that amazing creation and pitching it to the side, you took that hunk of puke Bedrock Edition, or as Microsoft calls it, "Minecraft," and put it on the throne. Then you had to make it worse. With the release of 1.16 comes the multiplayer management menu. I thought that was kinda cool, being able to mute people without a need for plugins. But, of course, it didn't last. Minecraft had a launcher update, which, in my opinion, is the worst launcher design I've ever seen. It's literally the same as the old launcher, but they added warnings. WARNINGS! I hate to break it to you, but my online safety is my own ordeal. If I wish to be warned about my "safety," I'd ask for it. Oh, and then it gets worse. They automatically disabled my modded instances, so I thought the launcher deleted them. And when I found the option to re-enable them, it gives me another warning! You wouldn't think it could get any worse, but oh no. This is Microsoft we're talking about. I recently acquired a second PC, and I am trying to turn it into a server host for random projects. I've got all the servers for hosting it without a monitor set up, which is nice. It automatically starts at 6:05 A.M every morning, starting an FTP, SSH, and VNC server along with it, and shuts down every night at 11:00 P.M. So now I want to automate a task that would complete all the troubles and make it about 100% automated and independent. I want to set up automatic sign-in. Sounds pretty simple, right? Well, the first thing I'd do is hit Windows+R on the keyboard, then type netplwiz, then un-check the box requiring users to enter a password. But oh no. The box wasn't there. So I've been over Google around a hundred times, and everything I find doesn't help. It said to make sure I wasn't on a domain. I'm not, because I upgraded my OS from Windows 8 to 10 for free, and if you do it for free, it only gives you the Home edition. It said to make sure I wasn't in a workgroup, so I checked, and I was, but thanks to Windows 10, there's no known way to disable that. I could only rename the workgroup. So I kept searching, and someone said to use the Registry Editor. I tried that, and ALMOST got it working, but for some reason, it always marks the username as incorrect. I've checked the spelling about twenty times. It's absolutely correct. The username and password are both correct, but they still won't work. I'm getting sick and tired of this new-age "ease-of-access" garbage. Newsflash: you're actually making the operating system more complicated. I'm almost to the point of installing CentOS on my PC, but apparently, they've gone nuts too, and are getting rid of CentOS Linux. I've already given up all rights to privacy by even having a Microsoft product of any sort in my house, but now I'm losing my customizability as well? Wow. Ok. And I'm guessing if a Microsoft representative comes by, they'll probably say, "Oh, we're sorry," then go on to state that Minecraft Bedork(I did that on purpose) Edition has so many more features and is exceptional in every way to Java Edition, and they'll go on to state that Microsoft respects privacy. Well, it's obvious the second statement is wrong. Microsoft doesn't give a **** about my privacy. But I've just reached the point that I don't care anymore. As for the first statement, that Bedrock edition is best, that's 100% wrong. It's fully possible to make Java edition cross-platform, it's possible to allow cross-play between Bedrock and Java(which, actually, has already been done), and if you ask any senior developer whether Java or C++ is easier, most likely they'll say Java. And did you know everything I just listed can be fixed? WOW! It's simple. All you do is add support for Windows 7 again, and then add an option to the Minecraft Java Edition launcher that disables warnings. Simple as that! And don't tell me that it would be a pain to bring back support for Windows 7. You already brought the new Microsoft Edge to it, so you obviously care a little. But yeah, please stop ruining all the things that I grew up with.
