DXGKRNL fatal error when playing games

I have been noticing regular BSOD with the same error - DXGKRNL fatal error. It does not seem consistent and sometimes I can go days without seeing this error. Typically occurs in new games, the game freezes and then I have to do something for the BSOD to finally occur (e.g to close the game or restart the computer manually).
