Dual Monitors not showing 2 different documents

[Windows 11]

I have dual monitors (Lifelong G70 and a Dell laptop). I can't open 2 different documents and display the different documents on the 2 screens. If I open a document on one screen, the other screen goes to the home screen. If I switch and open a document on the other screen, the alternate one goes to the home screen. The weird thing is that I can open a document on one and show the internet on the other and browse the web. What I can't do is open 2 different documents on alternate screens. I checked for drivers and it shows I have the most up to date drivers. I tried restarting the computer but
