Driver pnp watch dog error bsod

my hp envy x360 convertible is stuck on windows 8.1 and if I try to update to windows 10 from a usb drive it gives me a bsod error saying “driver pnp watch dog” even when I try to update it from windows 8.1 it gives me a error code “0x-c1900101 - 0x20017 the installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation” and so my computer is stuck on windows 8.1
