DPC Watchdog Violation errors, but my pc runs video games just fine

My windows 10 pc is regularly freezing and/or crashing. On the occasion I get a blue screen, I get a "DPC Watchdog Violation" error. I've gone through and tried to update the device drivers each individually in the device manager and nothing needed updates (according to the device manager). I got rid of Armory Crate. I disconnected a bunch of nonessential devices like my speakers and camera. Still crashes. One weird thing is tho, that my pc almost never crashes while I'm playing a video game.
