Downloads folder crashes file explorer

Hello, I was downloading Xilinx Vivado for a school lab and cancelled the download halfway. Ever since then, when I open file explorer it works fine but when i go to downloads it says "working on it" then the application stops responding.I've checked the location of the folder and its still in its right place. I've tried restarting my computer. I've also tried simply ending the file explorer task but it didn't work.Thank you for any help.
