Does Windows Malicous Software Removal Tool remove TrojanDownloader:/W?

Windows MRT's virus families page said that it did not have the capability to remove trojan downloader, so I want to know if that's true. I've ran many scans but so far only McAfee was able to stop the action of the virus. I have not been able to find out how to remove it. No scans so far have helped, McAfee has only detected never removed it.
