Does Windows have to be ctivated on a computer in order to run support apps for camera and door access software?

I have been able to install door access software on a Windows 10 enterprise compute that doesn't have an active Windows license without failure. My concern is, in future will none activation for the OS cause problems for the door access software in some way? Should I order a new product key for my computer to bypass any potential issues?
