I want to send a letter to an employee on FMLA telling her that her position

is a key position and if she is not able to return to work after three months

the position will be declared vacant and will be advertised. Does anyone

have a sample of such a letter?

Dear ___________:

Your position is a key position, and if you are unable to return to work

after three months, the position will be declared vacant and will be

advertsied.

Sincerely,

The Heartless Company that can't write personal letters to their employees.

Some states are "At Will" states. These states allow the employer to "hire

and fire at will". The federal leave act still must be observed if the

employer is subject to it.

However, to ask for a template to use is heartless. Make it personal.

Communicate on a personal level when you're going to fire somebody instead

of a canned letter.
