Do I have to pay for minecraft if I want to make a new account, but when I initially purchased it, I used an already existing account?

When I bought minecraft for my laptop, I used the account my sister and I share to sign in, which was already an existing Minecraft account beforehand. So, if I want to make my own account, do I have to pay for a new one?
