Disappearing mouse pointer when Bluetooth keyboard attached (Surface Go 2)

This problem appeared with the latest Win11 system update (22621.963). If I use my Surface Go 2 with the Typecover everything works properly. But if I remove the Typecover and instead try to use my Brydge keyboard (which connects via Bluetooth) the mouse pointer disappears. The keyboard is connected and all the keys produce their usual results, but the touchpad is of course unusable without a visible mouse pointer. I've tried several reboots, and worked through the mouse and touchpad settings, but nothing makes any difference.
