Today it happened again - I lost 7 hours of processing because Windows 10 automatically restarted without my consent to complete the installation of updates. I work with photogrammetry and often leave the computer to process big projects over night or even over the weekend. Being aware of the problem (yes, automatic restart is a problem, a big one!) having just barely avoided it on a similar project last week, I checked before leaving that no updates were waiting. And yet it happened. Again. This has to stop. Time is money, and when the computer is processing I cannot use it for any other work, so having to do big processing jobs over again (perhaps even missing a deadline or delivery) is a serious issue. I've searched through the forums and see that this is an annoyance that other users are also struggling with, but I can't find a clear, good answer to how this behaviour can be completely disabled. Don't get me wrong - I'm happy about updates, but it is utterly unacceptable that the computer restarts without my consent when programs are open and running! Please Microsoft, this is a serious issue. Losing 3 hours of processing is an annoyance, losing 7 hours makes me very angry, and losing 15-20 hours is unbearable!!!
