DHCP server does not assign IP and Yellow Exclamation mark

Good Day, I am experiencing a bit of a problem with my DHCP Server (Windows Server 2012 R2). For some reason it is displaying yellow exclamation icons next to the server and scope tree items. When this happens, no new machines can connect to the network and automatically receive an IP address. My only way around this is to enter a static IP on the new machine, that does not appear in the DHCP servers Address Leases list. This seems rather strange as I can see gaps in the leased IP range but these are not being assigned automatically and the laptop does not complain when I enter it manually so
