Device slows down after battery drained out

I opened my laptop at night and fell asleep completely forgetting to turn it off. When I woke up, I plugged it in to the charger to charge the battery and noticed the performance is incredibly bad. I have a Legion 5i, which is quite a decent laptop. But I couldn't even use it to open a browser without it having FPS drop and slow start up after that.
