Desktop Icons rearrange after every startup (new monitor resolution)

I replaced my main monitor yesterday (1080p to 1440p) and since then my desktop items have rearranged every bootup. I suspect it is due to the resolution change since the icons are placed inside a rectangle in the top left corner of the desktop.How do I fix this issue?
