Desktop folder not appearing in previous removed SSD

i got a new laptop as the previous had a mother board issue and so I removed my Samsung SSD from previous laptop because It had many files stored in desktop & download folder that i wanted to copy in my new laptop. I got an external SSD case and connected the SSD but I can't find any desktop folder in C>Users. I had one drive backup off, So even the OneDrive folder has nothing in it. Can anyone help me in locating these folders. The data is very important to me and needed.
