Desktop files located in a onedrive folder, tried to uninstall onedrive folder. Bad results

I tried to uninstall onedrive because I didn't want it, but now my entire desktop has been deleted. Along with a year's worth of work, custom programs for music and all sorts of stuff. I guess I really should've kept using onedrive because the last time I backed it up was a year ago. Is there anyway to get my desktop and everything in it back? I know it's been deleted and there's probably nothing I can do but I'm on the bargaining stage of grief now.Besides from that now I also can't access my desktop or pictures folders because they were both under onedrive for who knows what reason.
