Dell Latitude 7400 Laptop no HDMI output?

I recently obtained a Dell Latitude 7400 laptop from a relative. The laptop is in perfect mechanical and cosmetic condition.I am trying to connect my Samsung SyncMaster P2770 monitor with HDMI to use as a secondary monitor. It does not want to display any output to the monitor.
