delete files and folders under level 1 folder structure

I want to delete all the files and folder that a level1 folder includes. For example,with D:\fold_1\fold_a I want to keep D:\fold_1 and delete fold_a and its contents.There are a lot of level 1 folders (D:\fold_1, D:\fold_2, D:\fold_3 etc) and each one has a numerous of folders, sub-folders and files.Please note that I want to keep any system/hidden file stored in the 1st level, e.g. D:\fold_1\system.fileThanks
