Delay in lock screen shortcut key (F10)

Whenever I press my F10 key which is the shortcut that locks my device (its a physcical button I press and not a self-made command and its basically just WIN + L command). There is a good 1-3 second delay when I press it and when it registers to actually lock my screen. I noticed that the first time I do it the delay will be there but the 2nd or 3rd time I press it it's instant like before. It does this if I haven't used the command in a while.
