This Laptop was working fine and then developed a boot problem. I did a Reset this PC and it reloaded Windows.
It then started doing updates that lasted for quite a while. I then started adding my apps including the above
mentioned McAfee and Malwarebytes. It seems the Malwarebytes and Windows Defender are fighting each other now.
How can I stop the update from trying to run as it is not needed as Malwarebytes is taking care of the job?
If I run the Windows Defender app I get a box with a red bar with PC status: At risk
If I hit the start now button I get - The service couldn't be started.
On my other laptop also with Malwarebytes I get - This app has been turned off and isn't monitoring your computer, not the Windows Defender box as on this laptop.
It looks like I need to delete/remove this update as it will never install because Windows Defender is turned off and not needed.
