Usual problem. Ages ploughing through websites and trying the usual stuff
Eventually it turns out to be a classic MSFU.
In my case I have 2 HDD on the PC both with partitions.
I was trying to backup the C: drive on Disc 1. Disc 1 has 3 partitions all which have the required minimum amount of space
Then I noticed that Disc 2 (not involved in the back up in any way) had a very small partition/volume P: size 100MB whose free space was below < 50MB
I expanded the partition to get more than 50MB and everything worked fine.
Microsoft, please tell me why your image program fails to work when a Disc not involved in the image (let alone a partition) fails the shadow volume minimum size test!!
Just hope this helps someone else
