create a system image in Windows 11

I was used to perform a system image in Windows 10 on an external drive without any problem. Now, I just upgraded to Windows 11 and I'm always receiving the message "There is not enough disk space to create the volume shadow copy on the storage location. ... (0x80780119)". I have to say that the external drive has 1 TB free, so it shouldn't be a free space issue. Can someone help me?
