Copying a program disk to a thumb drive.

I have a new desktop computer and I'm in the process of setting it up. For over 20 years I've used Lotus spread sheets to keep track of financial data and wish to continue using it. The Lotus SmartSuite library of programs is on a DVD and the new pc doesn't have a DVD drive. I should be able to copy the Lotus library to a USB device; however, in searching the internet I could not find a clear discussion on how that's done.
