Can Windows Update be uninstalled and then reinstalled? I keep getting the Error code 80070422. I stopped using my laptop in May 2017 because an install of reimage would not complete – Reimage stalled twice during stability check – both times at Fixing (78%) and 448288KB downloaded successfully but would not complete Stability Check nor go to Security check. Never got Reimage to work so removed from laptop and just put laptop away.
In July 2018 I working with laptop again and have gotten some windows updates, and update history shows some updates as successful. However, the Windows Update screen shows “most recent check for update as 5/30/2017 at 3:34 PM.
I am not computer savvy so I thought that uninstall and reinstall of Windows Update would be easiest.
Any simple fix is appreciated.
