Hello,
I am writing here because, honestly, I have no idea where to start when it comes to the problem I've been having for quite some time. I'll try to describe my issues as best as possible, so hopefully someone can guide me to the right direction of finding the source of my problem.
The problem I'm having is freezes of my browser and my internet connection every once in a while. I'll be browsing something on the internet or watching a YouTube, Twitch video/stream and every tab gets frozen for a few seconds - videos stop playing and/or start buffering, websites don't load or respond to any of my clicks. After a few seconds everything goes back to normal. On top of that, when I'm playing an online game (usually Escape From Tarkov), my game just randomly disconnects with the message (server connection lost) and I have to reconnect. It happens maybe once or twice a day but as a general rule, it has to happen at the worst time. Now, I have a suspicion it might be my software or hardware, rather than the internet connection because I did call my ISP and ask them if it's on their end and they said no. They also asked me if I regularly restart my router every two weeks (which I don't, but when I restarted it, the same problem was back a couple days later, so I can't say restarting my router helped or changed anything). Another reason I don't think it's my ISP is because sometimes, when this freeze happens, my wife is playing something or browsing on her PC at the same time and she doesn't have the same issue. So, where should I start looking for a possible problem? What might be causing this issue?
I'm using Chrome as my browser and I could try cleaning my cache, but I'm pretty sure I have these freezes in my games even with my Chrome browser off. So I'm not sure if it could be the source of these problems.
Thank you to anyone who responds.
