I have Windows Vista 32 bit, service package 2, on my Dell laptop. It automatically downloaded and installed updates on 01/12/2016, but got stuck in a loop at "configuring updates 3 of 3, 0% complete."
I have gone through every "fix" I could find in the various microsoft community posts, with nothing working to correct the problem. Using the disc to boot up my computer didn't work either. It won't let me do a system restore either, because it says there is no restore point.
I do not want to lose the files I have on my computer, and I can't get to any program to back up my files, so using the disc to do a clean boot is out.
What else can I try?
