Hi, while looking at a website, I received a pop up that covered my screen. It had the Microsoft logo and looked exactly the same as the image user KenMeyerCord in this community posted on Jan. 23, 2016. Two differences was the phone number, which was 844-576-0464 on my screen. It also showed a website address lastoutcome.com, which was suspicious. It stated that my computer was blocked and that my personal files, including photos, social media passwords and credit cards information is in danger of being accessed. It instructed me to immediately call the above number where a Microsoft tech would clean and protect my computer.

I'm aware that this is a scam. I used Task Manager to delete the pop up which was frozen on my screen. I deleted all history and cookies. (I have Window 10 by the way.)

My question is: The fact that I received this pop up -- is this an indication that my computer is again infected with malware? Perhaps I clicked on a site that caused this pop up? Is receiving a pop up a sign that they have access to my computer and consequently sent me the pop up message?

I didn't download anything. I did not call the number listed. Still, I'm concerned that there is new malware on my computer. I've already run Windows Defender, which didn't show anything. My McAfee was disabled by true Microsoft techs that cleaned my computer last week due to prior malware concerns, so I can't run that. Do I need to call Microsoft to clean my computer again?

Thank you.
