Computer Constantly Crashing when gaming, no blue screen

For quite some time now, my computer has been consistently crashing several times a day when playing games or doing anything more intensive than browsing the internet. Essentially, out of nowhere I will get extreme frame drops and slowdowns before the screen freezes. Audio still works fine for an indeterminate amount of time before eventually getting caught as well (the frozen audio gets drawn out into a buzzing noise) This sometimes leads to the system self-restarting, but most of the time I need to hard reboot by holding down the power button, as the PC is still 'on' while frozen (fans movin
