Closing emails associated with my microsoft account.

My existing microsoft account is linked two 2 email accounts which i want to get rid of because the they are plagued by spam. i have also noticed multiple (unsuccessful) sign in attempts using one of the email s. Can i add a new email to the account without it being linked to the existing ones and get rid of the original two. Or should i delete the account and start a new account?
