Right-click "Start" -> Properties -> Start Menu (Tab) -> Customize

Click "Classic Start Menu" then click "Customize" beside it.

Click "Clear".

"OK" your way out.

HTH,

John

Thank you John.

However, that link clears the recently used programs list. I would like to

clear the Run list.

How about adding this (in the registry, for the key shown):

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]

"ClearRecentDocsOnExit"=dword:00000001

That's what I have to clear it after rebooting.

The easiest way is to install and use Ccleaner:

http://www.ccleaner.com/

Tip: When you install it, do not also install any options for toolbars,

etc. (That is, uncheck any boxes so this doesn't occur.)

Also, refrain from using its Registry feature.

Screeshot:

Among other things, you may easily choose to clear items in "Run (In

Start Menu)".

HTH.

On my machine, it clears the Run list too.

I guess I should have mentioned that the version of XP Pro that I am using

is 2002.

Or you use this small utility I wrote that would automate the process:
