Hi, I made a mistake by installing an old update and now the history page in
Windows Update shows that the installation of that update has failed.

Please advise how I can clear the error and/or delete the installation
failed entry.

OS: Win Vista Business. Thanks.

The entry for the failed update is stored on your system. If you want to
wipe out the entire update history shown at Windows Update you can
delete DataStore.edb. However, one can not remove just the one failed
update.
You could print out the update history by visiting Windows Update, then
go to the 'Review your update history' page, and click the Print All
link in order to preserve the update history.
Or, just ignore the failed installation.
