'Class not registered' when trying to open video files - have I made things worse?

Today videos on my computer ceasd to be playable - I got a window coming up each time saying 'class not registered'Could play them in 'Windows Media Player Legacy' but not in films and TV or media player, as I normally can.Doing a bit of searching around online, I came across a site called Make Use Of who amongst other thing suggested going to command prompt and running the following:FOR /R C:\ %G IN (*.dll) DO "%systemroot%\system32\regsvr32.exe" /s "%G" regsvr32 ExplorerFrame.dllWhich I did, but it brought up a lot of various pop ups and error messages etc. Have I just made things even
