Changing Microsoft Account E Mail Address.

Hi I am trying to change my email address on my Microsoft account but when i am logged in and on change mail address page i get mailbox already exists. I did have a Virgin Media mailbox but this has been closed by Virgin. I created a new mailbox in Outlook 365 but this account is registered with an Outlook Mail Address. My Cloud is now offline and I suspect it is because my Microsoft Account is still with the Virgin Mail Address, Is there a way of changing my Microsoft Account Mail to Match 365 Account?
