Changing google account

I have a question. I recently signed up to google chat and some how ended up changing my hotmail e-mail account to a gmail account. So I had my hotmail and a gmail account. I just wanted my old e mail back on my youtube and did some research and found out I can change my google email to gmail, but after that I can not change it again. Is that true? I have a month to recover my old account (with a different email), so is there a way to just change everything back to hotmail, and get all my subscriptions and comment history on youtube, with my old email address?
