Change Windows 11 Audio Device Type on USB Audio 2.0

I use a USB Audio 2.0 Interface with a Line Out and Line In. Starting with Windows 10, release 1703, a USB Audio 2.0 driver is shipped with Windows. It is designed to support the USB Audio 2.0 device class. Unfortunately said driver recognizes the Line Out as Speakers (which is totally fine for me) BUT it recognizes the Line In as Microphone Input. How do I change the device type to Line In? The Microphone Input has a Level Setting which totally distorts the audio when set to 50 and above. Unfortunately many applications and games nowadays are constantly changing the level.
