I've created custom task views in Outlook 2016. Example: a tasks view that modifies the Priority view (which has an exclamation mark as the icon in the ribbon). My views are accessible via the Current View chooser in the Ribbon, but they all have the default closed envelope icon.

Looking at prior questions this seems to have been an option in Outlook 2010. I did find a prior question addressing the same question but for Outlook 2010. Change or Select icon used for custom Current View. Trying that and creating a new view from the "Manage Views" window does give the option of choosing "Icon" as the type when creating a new view but when selecting that, an error pops up stating that "You can not create a view based on a card, day/week/month, or timeline view type in this folder. Use a table or icon view type instead." I am using the Icon view type, but it seems to fail when in Tasks.

The Visual Studio solution for Outlook 2007 offered there is not possible due to versioning and security of my corporate environment. I can't find any solution or to change the icon. Anybody know of a way to change the icon?
