CD drive reads burned cd as blank

The cd drive I bought for my hp laptop isn't detecting burned cds correctly. It shows up as a blank cd, but when I put it in my stereo/another cd player it reads just fine. Other cds are not affected, and I can still burn cds using the same cd drive. I checked drivers and updated my laptop, but it hasn't fixed the issue. Thanks to anyone that can help.
