Caught in a loop of Microsoft says they will send a CODE to a certain (credible) email address. Code never gets sent. WHY?

Got kind of hoodwinked into putting Windows 11 onto my 20 computer. Decided just to go with it and let it happen. All was well for a few days and I was learning the differences of where things are. Then, yesterday, I'm stumped. I turned on the computer and got the sign in screen, but the sign in went to a text screen which said MSFT would send me a code (to my regular email address). Every time I said - SEND CODE, I never received anything in my email box for that address. I need to find the answer to this question quickly as I have to use the machine on Monday to work.
