Can't use iCloud mailbox in Windows 10

I have an iCloud account for my personal emails, and a school gmail for all my school emails. The gmail works fine, but when I added the iCloud account, but every few minutes it says the account settings are out of date. I then entered the password (and I've tried many passwords) and it works for about 30 seconds, and then does the same thing. I then generated an app specific password on apple's website. I entered it into the password field for the account, and it worked for a few minutes, and then told me the settings were out of date. I tried generating a new password, but I ran into the sam
