Can’t sign in

I have tried everything I could think of to get back into my computer. I never had a sign in on the computer before but due to living with family member who has young kids I decided to put a sign in on it. I just turned my computer on and on the screen to sign in, I click sign in and it says one moment then has sign in again. It saddens me that it won’t let me sign in.
