Can't rip CD using legacy WMP.

I'm running Media Player legacy version 12 on Windows 11. With any CD loaded into the device when I hit the Rip CD button a box immediately pops up with the text:Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct.This used to work on Windows 10.Solution??
